Private Instruction - Studio Policies
Blanche Marie Lewis provides private instruction in flute, voice and piano in her home studio in Winter Park, Florida. Regular weekly lessons are available in 30-minute, 45-minute, and 60-minute sessions.
Once a time slot is established, lessons will be conducted during the regularly scheduled time. If a student is late, the remaining time scheduled will constitute the complete lesson. Make up lessons are only scheduled for missed lessons due to severe weather (as determined by local school closures) or illness. A make up lesson will always be given should Blanche Marie have to cancel a lesson.
Students should arrive at each scheduled lesson with music, weekly assignment sheet, metronome, and flute (if applicable).
In preparing for the weekly lesson, the student should focus on the details of the music that need specific attention. Practice is not simply playing though a song, but rather playing with a purpose - 'listening' to yourself, working through the details, focusing on problem sections, and then putting it all back together. Beginning students should practice 15-25 minutes a day; intermediate students will need to spend closer to 40 minutes a day. Advanced students will spend between 1 and 2 hours in daily practice.
The students will have the opportunity to perform in one or two recitals per year. Other performance opportunities are encouraged. These opportunities could include providing music for worship services, playing in school or scout talent shows, and participating in solo and ensemble competitions.

30-minute lessons - $20/lesson
45-minute lessons - $30/lesson
60-minute lessons - $40/lesson
