Nicolas Chedeville was a french composer during the Baroque period. Sonata No 6, Opus 8 was originally written for musette, violin, flute, and continuo in the key of g minor.
The movement labeled,"The Italian" has been arranged for 12 bells by Blanche Marie Lewis and shows off the joyful nature of the music that would have been played in the salons of the day.
Notice the X's in the score that can be played as mallet clicks or body percussion (claps, stamps, or snaps). All ringers who are able should participate in the percussive sounds so that the sound will carry. If an extra person is available, these X's can be played on claves as a separate part.
